Please note:
Our deckchair frame is made in New Zealand from Garapa hardwood. Garapa has a golden to yellowish brown colour which darkens with age and takes on silvery gray tones.
The main picture (with the light wood frame) is to show the fabric which is Roussillon. The other photo is to show a deckchair open and is a similar style and wood to the deckchair we sell (and in this photo the fabric for styling purposes is Tom Multi).
The replacement deckchair slings have been specifically made to fit the Madder & Rouge Deckchair Frame which has the feature of easily removable slings. (For other deckchair frames we suggest you purchase your preferred fabric by the meter. Available fabrics can be seen in the deckchair section.)
About our Deckchairs and Fabric:
The fabric is designed by a mill located in a small village in the South-West of France. They have been producing fabric since 1873 using traditional weaving methods.
This fabric called Roussillon, is 100% acrylic and is made for the mill by Sunbrella in France. Sunbrella fabric is renowned for its outstanding resistance to UV rays. Built to be an all weather fabric, it will keep its vibrant colour for years. The fabric also features a stain and soil resistant finish.
Our Deckchairs feature:
- French Canvas Acrylic Slings - Made in France by Sunbrella & fade resistant
- Removable Slings - gives you the flexibility to change your look
- FSC Certified Garapa Hardwood Frames for superior strength *see below
- 3 Recline Settings for that perfect angle to talk, read or snooze

Made in NZ using FSC Certified Garapa timber
Garapa is a strong and durable timber suitable for permanent outdoor use. Being FSC certified means that the forest, or supply chain of timber, is managed responsibly; that it complies with FSC environmental, social, and economic standards. This includes ensuring that local communities are respected, the habitats of endangered plant and animal species are protected and ensures workers are properly paid.
During initial weathering the timber, like many timbers, may leach a brown stain. Care should be taken during this stage to avoid staining of paved, tiled or timber areas and also staining of the fabric sling. (The initial weathering & leaching can be hastened by removing the sling & leaving the frame in the rain or hosing it on a lawn area.)
