Tolix Chaise A
The Tolix Chair A was Frances' first industrial style chair, designed and made in 1937 in Autun France. It is this history that gives this chair its character and timeless quality. It looks amazing with modern straight lines, and sits with equal comfort next to old antique pine tables or teak and walnut heavy legged family heirlooms. We have ours around an old American vintage steel table - they look fabulous.

RAW VARNISHED - Price $479
Raw steel with a transparent soft gloss varnish - for Interior Use
The Raw Varnished finish is timeless and gives the chair its industrial quality. This finish most reflects the age of the design and sits comfortably next to all surfaces. The Industrial finish is evidenced in the slight differences in color due to the variations in the original metal sheet. In addition the welds and joins used to assemble the chair can be seen under the varnish.
PAINTED - Price $479
Gloss paint finish - for Interior Use
The Chair A is available in approximately 50 paint colours. The bright glossy finish ranges from the sophistication of whites and creams, to fun reds, yellows, and ... The Painted finish is a great way to add energy and colour to a room.
The chairs are fully painted using a mixed epoxy-polyester thermosetting paint.

GALVANISED VARNISHED - Price$685
Zinc coated steel with a transparent gloss varnish - for Exterior or Interior Use
Galvanized steel has gone through a chemical process to keep it from corroding or rusting. The steel gets coated in layers of zinc and then a clear varnish is applied.
When steel is submerged in melted zinc, the chemical reaction permanently bonds the zinc to the steel through the processing of galvanizing, and rust won't attack this protective metal. Zinc also protects the steel by acting as a "sacrificial layer." If, for some reason, rust does take hold on the surface of galvanized steel, the zinc will get corroded first.

Our French Stripe Cushions look beautiful in any interior. The fabric comes from an old mill located in a small village high in the hills in the South West of France.
