Tolix 45cm Stool
The Tolix Stool was designed by Xavier Pauchard, almost certainly in response to a request from a local firm (thought to be Schneider of Creusot), to provide a 'seat for every worker', thus the reason the Tolix Stool was available in multiple heights - to fit all the factory workers needs. The stool featured in the very first Tolix Catalogue in heights of 45, 50, 60 and 70cm.
Today the Tolix stool has increased its size range and is available from 45cm high to 80 cm high (in 5cm increments). Sizes available are: 45cm / 50cm / 55cm / 60cm / 65cm / 70cm / 75cm / 80cm.
The Stool in 'seat heights' is available in 45cm, 50cm and 55cm high versions. (The Barstools feature braces or footrests near the bottom of the legs. These feature on stool heights from 60cm up).
The Tolix 45cm stool is a beautiful, practical design object. With its cut-out hand space at the top of the stool it is easy to move around the house and can be used around the dining table mixed back with chairs, or as a stool at a desk, or as a bedside table.The bright splashes of colour add energy and interest to your interior. Children find them easy to move and use, and they are sturdy and safe.

RAW VARNISHED 45cm STOOL - Price $298
Raw steel with a transparent soft gloss varnish - for Interior Use
The Raw Varnished finish is timeless and gives the stool its industrial quality. This finish most reflects the age of the design and sits comfortably next to all surfaces. The Industrial finish is evidenced in the slight differences in color due to the variations in the original metal sheet. In addition the welds and joins used to assemble the chair can be seen under the varnish.

Gloss paint finish - for Interior Use
The Tolix 45cm Barstool is available in approximately 50 paint colours. The bright glossy finish ranges from the sophistication of whites and creams, to fun reds, yellows, and ... The Painted finish is a great way to add energy and colour to a room.
The stools are fully painted using a mixed epoxy-polyester thermosetting paint.
GALVANISED VARNISHED 45cm STOOL- Price$463
Zinc coated steel with a transparent gloss varnish - for Exterior or Interior Use
Galvanized steel has gone through a chemical process to keep it from corroding or rusting. The steel gets coated in layers of zinc and then a clear varnish is applied.
When steel is submerged in melted zinc, the chemical reaction permanently bonds the zinc to the steel through the processing of galvanizing, and rust won't attack this protective metal. Zinc also protects the steel by acting as a "sacrificial layer." If, for some reason, rust does take hold on the surface of galvanized steel, the zinc will get corroded first.

Our French Stripe Cushions look beautiful in any interior. The fabric comes from an old mill located in a small village high in the hills in the South West of France.
